<3 My Top 3 Perfumes <3

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! This DVB Intimately for Women perfume by the Beckhams is my new fave perfume  I have used this everyday since I got it and it is incredible. It literally lasts all day and I can still smell it on myself when I'm about to go to sleep. The scent is sweet but sophisticated and good enough for any day or night-do.
This is the DKNY Be Delicious perfume. I had got given this last year for Chrimsas and loved it that much I asked for it this year too! This secent is really fruity (that doesn't take much guessing if you look at the bottle). It is perfect and light to wear for the daytime, especially when summer comes around.
This is the Burberry Original perfume by Burberry (obviously). This is what I like to describe as just a classic traditional perfume smell, which sounds bad, but I don't think that;'s a bad thing. It's such a mature and classic scent and could be worn for any formal events or just day-to-day. Love it!

Overall, if I HAD TO pick a favourite, it would be the DVB one. It's new for me and just ticks all the right boxes with how it smells, how long it lasts and its lovely presentation.

How about you? What is your favourite perfume?

Day at the Manchester Galleriesssss

The other day, with college, I went on a trip around Manchester to visit Manchester Art Gallery, Whitworth Art Gallery and the Platt Hall Gallery of costume.

I want to start with Platt Hall. This was basically a fashion museum and I loved loved loved it! It was so interesting seeing how fashion has changed AND also gone back on itself. For example, the magazine print clutch bag was around in the '40s and returned last year at Asos. Also, in the hat exhibition there were many very similar to what I have seen Gaga wearing lately!

I can't say I found Whitworth Gallery too impressive. It was a tad boring, but with the odd exception or two. It had great pieces of art surrounding several murders and even Chernobyl.

Rob Ryan you are amazing!
Manchester Art Gallery never fails to impress me with its mix of modern, contemporary and old-fashioned. It's such a good all-rounder!

I've been shopping quite a bit, as you can see from above, and will have lots and lots of OOTDs when I get round to it! I am really excited for Christmas and bought a few pressies today. It's such a great time of year and I love love love giving presents to everyone <3

Oh, It's Easy...

After having had the AA Disco Pants for almost a year I had started to get bored of them while still remaining in love with them though. I wanted something different, but just as flattering and comfortable  I only ever wear high waisted bottoms... and so when AA started to do the Easy Jean I just had to have it.

For anyone thinking of getting them, that already had Disco Pants, I would recommend to buy the same size you already have... even though at lot of people say to buy a size up.

So these are my new babies! I love them to pieces... seriously like unconditional love! My socks are from Topshop and I love love love them too!

Overall I would recommend these jeans to everyone! However, they're about £64 so it might be wise to try them on in store before breaking the bank (just to be on the safe side.) :)

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

I'm a Geekkk! #OOTD

This is my first EVER outfit of the day! I'm really bad at posing for photos so please take that on board! Haha!

Firstly, the red lipstick is Ruby Woo by Mac that my amigo (britishbeautygeek.blogspot.co.uk) and my other friend bought me for my birthday. I love it because it is so bright and I like having bright lips! Also, it's matte and looks really soft and velvety. I loveeee it too because it's something that I wanted but never have to guts to buy myself because of the price and the fact I'm quite a cheapo when it comes to make-up!

The necklace is from another friend. It's by Freedom @ Topshop. It's so gorgeous and the charms are adorable and so simple. <3

Jumper - Topshop
Blouse - H&M
Disco Pants - American Apparel
Trainers - Nike @ JD

This outfit is so comfy, but after looking at the photos I don't think I'll wear my disco pants with them. They aren't very flattering so mabye some light-weight leggings will look a bit better!

Tuesday 6 November 2012

So the 6th of November is my birthday, I am now 17!! I thought I'd share with you a few of the bits I got and also threw in a few of the things of been buying myself lately so you can get an idea of what I'll be reviewing the up and coming weeks!

This is the Volume Million Lashes Mascara by L'oreal. I've not used it enough yet to have much of an opinion but I absolutely love the container it comes in, so chic!
Next is the Out of This World Lush bath set. I really cannot wait to use this as I'm sure it will not disappoint as lush always exceeds my expectations. Review coming soon. :)

This is the L'oreal black Contour Kohl Eyeliner. I'm not big on black eyeliners but I shall give it a go!

Gloves, gloves, gloves... Needless to say they are essential if, like me, you have to endure the freezing cold temperatires that come with living in the UK. Anyway, Primark have a wide range of different coloured and different material gloves in store now and all at really cheap prices too! So, I picked up a double pack of two plain black gloves for £1 to last me through the winter months that lie ahead. Brrrrr....

These are my new flatform shoes from River Island. I've wanted a nice smart pair of black shoes that still have a youthful edge and I think these are perfect  they have a lacey lining on the outside, a faux suede flatform and a slightly pointed toe. LOVE!

p.s just an update, I returned these shoes. After some thought, as much as I love them, the backs are really hard and I don't think they will be too comfy. :(

These socks were £2.50 which I view to be quite pricey for Primark. However, these are such cute socks with speckles of glitter in and will look adorable with cropped jeans, disco pants or a nice pair of shoes.

Last, but by no means least, my glittery velvet Topshop dress. I have wanted this for a while and finally got it today! The fit is really flattering and the skater skirt bottom is super girly. However, the glitter is a bit annoying and keeps flaking off everywhere  BUT I still love it and for around £41 (with student discount) I think I found a good bargain.

THE White Eyeliner

Recently I picked up the MUA white eyeliner for the bargain price of £1! Wow, still can't get over that. Anyway, I bought it to open up my eyes more as I feel like black eye liner seems to make my eyes look smaller. I didn't fancy buying a really costly one before I knew if it even worked or if I even liked it. I am so happy with this £1 one and I didn't expect the high quality that it was either. More of my opinion is here.
White Eye-liner on waterline

Firstly, I applied the white liner to my water line as it really changes the shape of your eyes by opening them up  more.

Secondly, I applied the eyeliner to my inner tear ducts and then blended it in with my finger. This step makes your eye look a lot brighter.

Below are the other eye products eye also used to achieve this look! This includes a Rimmel Eyebrow pencil, Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara and my Bobbi Brown Black Eyeliner.

Here is a really useful Youtube video I found with some great white eyeliner tips... ENJOY!

MUA Mini Make-up Haul

Again, apologies for the poor camera quality!

MUA Makeup Academy, which you can delve into more detail right here, is a recent new makeup brand I have found. Pretty much all of their makeup is under £4... that's right, I didn't make a typo. That includes primers, foundations and palettes

The other day when I was in Superdrug and stumbled across MUA I decided to pick up a few things from their collection.

 1. This is the MUA Shade 1 Bronzer (£1.00). I particularly like the shimmer in this bronzer which you can see on the image to the left. I find that I have to be careful with this bronzer and really have to try to not make myself look a tad too orange. I really like it though! The colour isn't too dark for my skin tone and it looks great instead of using blusher. In my opinion it is just as good as any other bronzer I have ever used.
 2. This is the Intense Colour Snow White Eye Liner. I've been wanting to try a white eyeliner to make my eyes look bigger and more bright and was even planning on spending around £20 on one from Selfridges. Luckily, I found this one for £1.00. It's great. Does the job just fine and goes on really smoothly. Plus, it comes with it's own sharpener on the lid which is even more convenient. I'll do a solo review of this once I get my camera up and running again!
 3. These are the MUA Lispticks in Shade 1 and Shade 2. Both are rather wintery colours and are very warming on the face.

Shade 1 is a bright red berry kind of colour. Shade 2 is more of a gothic purple (which I love). Both come in at only £1.00. The texture of the lipsticks isn't as nice and as soft as brands like Rimmel and Bobbi Brown but the result in my opinion isn't anything bad. Great if you just want a random wild colour for just one night.

My Top Five Nail Polishes

Apologies for the extremely poor camera quality but unfortunately my camera ran out of battery and I had no better alternative than to use my phone :( Anyway, thought I'd share with you my favourite and most used top five nail polishes. I don't have the best nails so I don't do any of them fancy pants patterns like some people. But these five are simple and great for just day-to-day.

Left to right -
1. NYC Colour Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish (Prospect Park Pink) £1.99 approx.
2.  Models Own (Tropical Storm) £5.00
3. Models Own (Bloo Bloo) £5.00
4. Models Own (Scarlet Sparkle) £5.00
5. No.7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour (Salsa) £5.50
Out of these five my favourite is Number One; NYC Colour Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish (Prospect Park Pink). The colour is really subtle and really pretty. I like the application of it and how easily it goes on. I have had this one for about a year now and use it all the time. It hasn't gone gloopy or 'off' like some nail polishes do. It seems to last me really long as I still have quite a lot left. Also, I really like the brush on it as it is nice and long. At around £1.99 this is the cheapest of the lot... and the best!

I bought Number Two and Number Three, for my prom a few months ago, to go with my dress. I really like the bottles they come in, they are so simplistic and chic. However  they don't seem to last very long and inspite of all the hype I don't personally think they are THAT great. After a while I have found they don't apply as well as at first. Just average. I do think though that the colours 'Bloo Bloo' and 'Tropical Sun' are lovely. 'Tropical Sun' has nice golden shimmer to it. Perfect to girly up any outfit.

Number four is a gorgeous Christmassy Colour. However, without any coloured base coat the glittery texture seems a bit plain. So... panic not, I just use Number Five as a base coat and that really compliments the glitter to give a real traffic light glittery red colour!

The 99p Dress!

I don't know how many of you read all the newspapers and stuff. But this week I came across the famous 99p dress being sold at OMGfashion.co.uk. Now, the dress is nothing spectacular but is advertised as being the perfect party wear dress and as the cost is SO cheap it does't matter if you only wear it once.
This is the dress! Like I said, nothing major about it. However, it's glittery blocks of colour and peplum waist is perfect for the Christmas party season. This dress hasn't been reduced, it's not in the sale... It is just 99p. Currently, it is out of stock *cry*, but when it is back in stock I would love to order it just to see what it is like. Is it too good to be true?

I am also aware it may just be a marketing ploy just to get lots of bargain hunters on their website exploring what else they have to offer? Also, the P&P costs more than the actual dress! Anyway, thought I'd let everyone know so you can go and check it out for yourselves! Let me know if you get your hands on it and let me know what your opinion is!

Tan Tan Tan

Around £12.99 - Superdrug (currently half price at £6.19)
This is just a short post! Right, I really don't like being pale. It makes me look like a ghost in photos or it really makes me look ill. I wish I was one of them people that just suited being pale... but I'm not.

Anyway... I'm always up for trying new products and as you may have read here, the other day I bought the L'oreal Sublime Bronze Gel in a "natural" tone as it says on the back. Everyone I knew had pretty much raved about it! Considering that when I tried this product I was in a bit of a rush and didn't take much care when doing it, I was pleasantly surprised.

Obviously, as much as we all wish it would be true, I doubt that any self-tan product (that isn't ridiculously overpriced) will ever leave you with a PERFECT tan. But this was pretty close. There are no real obvious streaks, just a couple of pale patches from when I washed the palms of my hands and the water splashed back... but I guess that was my fault!

What I like with this product is that you can build up to the tan you desire. Also, I have found with other tanning products, like L'oreal Sublime Mousse, it looked a bit of a bright orange in daylight. However, I do find the tone of this one really nice and natural. Thumbs up from me, L'oreal!

Today I bought...

Today (actually yesterday, but only just published... oops!) I went shoppinggggg in Manchester and picked up a few little nice things! I love everything I picked out today and only chose my favourite four as I also bought a bath bomb from Lush and a beaded bolero from Primark but as gifts! You can see how much of an "exciting" day I had from the look on my face... ahaha

Primark Studded Clutch Bag (£6)
I recently bought a very similar leather purse version of this from Topshop for £22, but when I saw the clutch version in Primark I just had to go get it! Even better when I found out that Topshop do a clutch for about £38 that looks identical! This bag is a really practical size and has a mini wrist strap too. Love love love it!
Topshop High Neck Green Top (£10)
I adore the colour of this top and finally decided to buy it after much deliberation... and now I want it in all four colours as it also comes in white, black and a burgundy. The shape and fit of the top is really flattering for your shoulders and neck and it is really comfy too. Looks like something from American Apparel, but at the fraction of the price!
 Primark Glitter Leggings (£7)
These are heaven! I thought, being from Primark, they would be thin and see through. Surprisingly they are nice and thick, but not so thick that they make you look tubsy. Last year, I bought a similar pair from Urban Outfitters for £28 and then returned them because I thought they weren't worth the money. I am glad I returned them and waited it out for a cheaper and, in my opinion, better quality, glitter legging.
L'oreal Sublime Bronze Gel (£6.19)
This product has been recommended to be by so many people and I've wanted to try it for a while. It's usual price is around £13 and I didn't want to pay that for it incase I didn't like it. However, it has been marked down to half price at Superdrug. So I bought it... once I try it out I will be sure to review it!
I am very happy with my goodies!
