My Top Five Nail Polishes

Apologies for the extremely poor camera quality but unfortunately my camera ran out of battery and I had no better alternative than to use my phone :( Anyway, thought I'd share with you my favourite and most used top five nail polishes. I don't have the best nails so I don't do any of them fancy pants patterns like some people. But these five are simple and great for just day-to-day.

Left to right -
1. NYC Colour Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish (Prospect Park Pink) £1.99 approx.
2.  Models Own (Tropical Storm) £5.00
3. Models Own (Bloo Bloo) £5.00
4. Models Own (Scarlet Sparkle) £5.00
5. No.7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour (Salsa) £5.50
Out of these five my favourite is Number One; NYC Colour Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish (Prospect Park Pink). The colour is really subtle and really pretty. I like the application of it and how easily it goes on. I have had this one for about a year now and use it all the time. It hasn't gone gloopy or 'off' like some nail polishes do. It seems to last me really long as I still have quite a lot left. Also, I really like the brush on it as it is nice and long. At around £1.99 this is the cheapest of the lot... and the best!

I bought Number Two and Number Three, for my prom a few months ago, to go with my dress. I really like the bottles they come in, they are so simplistic and chic. However  they don't seem to last very long and inspite of all the hype I don't personally think they are THAT great. After a while I have found they don't apply as well as at first. Just average. I do think though that the colours 'Bloo Bloo' and 'Tropical Sun' are lovely. 'Tropical Sun' has nice golden shimmer to it. Perfect to girly up any outfit.

Number four is a gorgeous Christmassy Colour. However, without any coloured base coat the glittery texture seems a bit plain. So... panic not, I just use Number Five as a base coat and that really compliments the glitter to give a real traffic light glittery red colour!

The 99p Dress!

I don't know how many of you read all the newspapers and stuff. But this week I came across the famous 99p dress being sold at OMGfashion.co.uk. Now, the dress is nothing spectacular but is advertised as being the perfect party wear dress and as the cost is SO cheap it does't matter if you only wear it once.
This is the dress! Like I said, nothing major about it. However, it's glittery blocks of colour and peplum waist is perfect for the Christmas party season. This dress hasn't been reduced, it's not in the sale... It is just 99p. Currently, it is out of stock *cry*, but when it is back in stock I would love to order it just to see what it is like. Is it too good to be true?

I am also aware it may just be a marketing ploy just to get lots of bargain hunters on their website exploring what else they have to offer? Also, the P&P costs more than the actual dress! Anyway, thought I'd let everyone know so you can go and check it out for yourselves! Let me know if you get your hands on it and let me know what your opinion is!

Tan Tan Tan

Around £12.99 - Superdrug (currently half price at £6.19)
This is just a short post! Right, I really don't like being pale. It makes me look like a ghost in photos or it really makes me look ill. I wish I was one of them people that just suited being pale... but I'm not.

Anyway... I'm always up for trying new products and as you may have read here, the other day I bought the L'oreal Sublime Bronze Gel in a "natural" tone as it says on the back. Everyone I knew had pretty much raved about it! Considering that when I tried this product I was in a bit of a rush and didn't take much care when doing it, I was pleasantly surprised.

Obviously, as much as we all wish it would be true, I doubt that any self-tan product (that isn't ridiculously overpriced) will ever leave you with a PERFECT tan. But this was pretty close. There are no real obvious streaks, just a couple of pale patches from when I washed the palms of my hands and the water splashed back... but I guess that was my fault!

What I like with this product is that you can build up to the tan you desire. Also, I have found with other tanning products, like L'oreal Sublime Mousse, it looked a bit of a bright orange in daylight. However, I do find the tone of this one really nice and natural. Thumbs up from me, L'oreal!

Today I bought...

Today (actually yesterday, but only just published... oops!) I went shoppinggggg in Manchester and picked up a few little nice things! I love everything I picked out today and only chose my favourite four as I also bought a bath bomb from Lush and a beaded bolero from Primark but as gifts! You can see how much of an "exciting" day I had from the look on my face... ahaha

Primark Studded Clutch Bag (£6)
I recently bought a very similar leather purse version of this from Topshop for £22, but when I saw the clutch version in Primark I just had to go get it! Even better when I found out that Topshop do a clutch for about £38 that looks identical! This bag is a really practical size and has a mini wrist strap too. Love love love it!
Topshop High Neck Green Top (£10)
I adore the colour of this top and finally decided to buy it after much deliberation... and now I want it in all four colours as it also comes in white, black and a burgundy. The shape and fit of the top is really flattering for your shoulders and neck and it is really comfy too. Looks like something from American Apparel, but at the fraction of the price!
 Primark Glitter Leggings (£7)
These are heaven! I thought, being from Primark, they would be thin and see through. Surprisingly they are nice and thick, but not so thick that they make you look tubsy. Last year, I bought a similar pair from Urban Outfitters for £28 and then returned them because I thought they weren't worth the money. I am glad I returned them and waited it out for a cheaper and, in my opinion, better quality, glitter legging.
L'oreal Sublime Bronze Gel (£6.19)
This product has been recommended to be by so many people and I've wanted to try it for a while. It's usual price is around £13 and I didn't want to pay that for it incase I didn't like it. However, it has been marked down to half price at Superdrug. So I bought it... once I try it out I will be sure to review it!
I am very happy with my goodies!

Hair Care!

Since I had my ombre done I have been more conscious of the products I use on it. I try to buy the shampoos/conditioners that are most suited to my hair type (fine) and will benefit the bleached sections most!

These are the three products I most recently purchased and use most often. They were all from Bodycare and not too expensive. i really like Bodycare for this reason; I can go in there and always find a great deal! For example, the Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo (500ml) and the Tresemme Instant refresh Shampoo came together for only £2.99!!
Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo (500ml)
This is a really nice product with a pearl like appearance. It smells really good and expensive. I wouldn't say the outcome is anything different to what I have found with any other shampoo, but nevertheless I still really like it and would buy it again. There is plenty in the bottle and it is lasting me a long time, and for less than £2.99 for that (AND MORE) I can't really complain.
 Tresemme Instant refresh Shampoo (200ml)
I cannot stress enough my dislike for this product! It just seems useless to me. I;'ve tried it a couple of times just to make sure, but my results were exactly the same. I applied this to dry/greasy hair and then hair dried. At first glance it seemed alright... but 10 minutes after and when I looked closer my hair looked even greasier! I am glad i didn't spend a fortune on this and I will not be buying it again! I'm sticking to Batiste Dry Shampoo :)
L'oreal Elvive Triple Resist Conditioner (400ml)
This was also fairly cheap at £.199 from Bodycare. I really enjoy using this as it smells lovely and leaves me with great results. I find that the conditioner leaves the blonde tips of my hair feeling really soft, but strong. It really worked well for me and i will be buying it again. Plus, I like the pretty pink on the bottle... CHIC!

Skin Care Reviews!

These are the 4 skincare products that I use on a daily basis! I usually can't be bothered to go through skin care routines, especially in the morning, but over the past few months I've made an effort to stick to my routine! Yay, I'm proud!

This is the Visibly Clear Oil-free Facial Wash by Neutrogena. I really like this product as I think the colour is just so bright and feels so soft on my skin. I use this one in the morning as a refresher before applying my primer. However, even though I like the smell and appearance I'd say, as far as facial washes go, this is nothing special. It does the trick and does no harm.

From Boots, 2 for £5 on Neutrogena products.

This is product no.2 from Boots; Visibly Clear Gentle Exfoliating Wash, again by Neutrogena. I really do love this one! I use it at night as it is an exfoliating wash so really helps to remove my make-up. It leaves my skin feeling soft and removes any dry bits. I'd definitely recommend!
This is the Blackhead Clearing Cleanser by Clean & Clear. I can;t remember the exact price but I know it was quite cheap. (less than £5) This is GREAT for removing my make-up. I've not used it for long, but usually after using my face wash at night I'd just assume all of my make-up was off! BUT it isn't! After using this product at night I noticed all of the excess make-up it removed that I didn't even know was still on there! SO THIS IS MY FAVOURITE PRODUCT OF THE LOT!!
This is the Fix & Perfect Rimmel Primer, from Boots at £6.99. I wasn't happy with the cost, but wanted to try it out. It did set my skin nicely and soften it for make-up application... but didn't make much of a difference once I'd done my make-up... and I expected it to be different just because of the price. One tiny thing is that it helped to mattify my skin. But I wouldn't recommend it as i think it is overpriced and does't have much effect.

What's inside my make-up bag?

Firstly, my make-up bag was only £1 in Primark, so if you're looking for a cheap one then go there. It's also an easy wipe-clean material so perfect for holding your make-up.

This is my Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara... and I love it! I always buy Rimmel Mascaras as I think they are the best for giving volume and length compared to others I have tried such as, Elizabeth Arden, No.7 etc. Also, Rimmel's products are generally really reasonably priced too!

This is my Silky Loose Face Powder also by Rimmel. It is a good touch-up for throughout the day to just blot your skins and keep your make-up in place. It is only around £7 and I got it as part of a 3 for 2 offer on at Superdrug which is still on now!
I don't use this often as I don't think I suit eye-liner. However, when I do use this I think it is great! It lasts a really long time and is so hard wearing that I don't feel the need to touch it up through the day/night. It's pricey at £18 but is definitively worth it.
This was £18 too and is by FAR my most favourite lipstick in the world! NO JOKE! It is so soft and such a nice "soft coral" colour and really warms up my fair skin tone. I would completely recommend!
My cover-up concealer stick by Collection 2000 is only £1.99! It works really well and is great value for money! it had such great coverage and doesn't break the bank. It's really compact too so will fit nicely in your handbag for touch ups. However, I never usually need to touch it up when I use the product.
I only bought this Maybelline Stain Liquid foundation yesterday but so far, so good! I decided to buy a lightly darker shade than I usually choose in foundations and was worried it would make me look orange or leave me with foundation lines on my neck. As far as I can see it blends really well and I like it! It was only £8 too! Cheap as chipsssss...

'A' Topshop Sale!

Yesterday morning, to my delight, I stumbled upon the new Topshop mid-season sale! I raced in store and immediately scoured through the bargains! My friend came over to me with a jumper she thought I'd like... and she was correct! I looked at the price tag and this lovely pink knitted jumper was reduced to a mere £5! If the wasn't good enough, my student discount made it even cheaper!

So this is my lovely jumper! The material is so so soft and comfy and I really love it! The A in the is made of a furry felt kind of material! All-in-all I am really pleased! Having said that, I don't think this item is in stock anymore and to be honest I would be surprised if it was at that price. (Should have been £36, wowza.) The only negative is the letter on the front... would have been more ideal if it was a 'K'... but then again, beggars can't be choosers. At least it is pink!

I will definitely be paying several visits to Topshop throughout sale season and can't wait to dig out some more bargains.
Don't miss out.
