Another FOTD

Good evening, blogging world! Yesterday, I took a trip into Manchester City Centre with a wonderful old friend to do some much-needed, post-exams retail therapy.

Here is what my makeup was like for my little shopping trip and I took this selfie in the H&M fitting rooms, which have the most amazing lighting, in my opinion - please ignore the teeny tiny blemish above my lip!

Anyway, to find out what I products I used to achieve this look, just scroll down a tad...

WHAT I USED ON MY:

Face:

  • Body Shop Instablur Primer
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation
  • Mac Prolongwear Concealer
  • Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder
  • Body Shop Bronzer
  • Sleek Contour Kit for contour and highlight - in the light shade
  • Mac blush in 'Pink Sprinkles'
  • Make Up For Ever HD Powder
Eye Area:
  • Anastasia Brow Wiz
  • Benefit High Glow
  • Maybelline 'Master Sleek' brow gel
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion - original
  • Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette (base "truth", crease "alien", outer corner "alchemy" and "bondage", inner corner "bobby dazzle" and then I ran a few of them under my lower lashes)
  • Maybelline Master Precise Liner
  • Origins Gin Zing mascara
Lips:
  • Mac lip pencil in 'Soar' (as always, haha)
  • Mac lipstick in 'Velvet Teddy'
I hope you found this interesting. If there is anything else you would like to know then please feel free to ask me anything and I will get back to you.

I intend on writing a post of my favourite concealers and on my skincare routing in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled!

Until next time...

Have a lovely week,

Love Katie xxx

FACE OF THE DAY

HEY!

I have been busy with exams lately so have found it difficult to find the time to post. I thought I would do a quick 'FOTD' to show you my makeup I did yesterday. It turned out quite nicely I think :)

What I used:

  • Body Shop Instablur primer
  • Mac Studio Fix Fluid
  • Mac prolongwear concealer
  • Sleek contour kit
  • Mac Simpson's blusher
  • Makeup For Ever Aqua Cream
  • Mac Sour pencil
  • Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 101
I have just listed the more specific items I used, as I am away from my makeup so I can't check shades or anything. If there is anything you would like to know the name of, please ask!

See you soon!

Vice Palette and Babyliss Curls

Good Afternoon!
Today, I decided to sport a quite pink-based makeup look and loose beachy waves. Scroll down a little bit further to find out how I did it.

For my birthday, in November, I received the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette and I couldn't love it any more than I do!

On my eyes, I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion in 'original' and then used the shade "Truth" as my base. I then simply used my Sephora Airbrush Shadow brush from my set. I then used the same brush and applied the shade "Alien" and "Alchemy" on the outer corners of my eyes. And, of course, I blended with a MAC 217 blending brush. I then added the Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner to wing out my eyes followed by my Tarte mascara - Lights, Camera, Lashes.

For my lips, I used a MAC lip pencil in the shade 'Spice' with Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in the shade 101.

Next, the hair. For Christmas I got the Babyliss Thermo Ceramic Rollers. I am still practising, but today I liked the look I got with them. I have read other blog posts on them and some people get some amazing looks.

TOP TIPS:

  • The rollers will work so much better if you use them on slightly damp hair that has been moussed! And don't let out the rollers until the hair is 100% dry. This way, your curls will be a lot more durable.
  • Leave the rollers in for quite a while. The longer they are in, the better the curls.
Thank you for reading and please feel free to leave any questions and I will answer!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Lots of love,
Katie x

Velvet Lips

Lucky little me managed to get my hands on one of Mac's most sought after lippies: Velvet Teddy. It is supposed to be one of Kylie Jenner's faves. It had been sold out everywhere for ages, so as soon as I saw it in stock on the Mac website, I didn't hesitate. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the order arrived. Bearing in mind it is a week until Christmas, my order arrived within two days... IMPRESSED!

Anyhow, on to the makeup. I typically tend to go for a similar makeup look on a daily basis. I understand a lot of people may think this is OTT for everyday, but it is what makes me feel comfortable.

Today, I used the Makeup Forever HD starter kit. It is a great kit and I could only get my hands on it when I went to New York last summer. For me, the foundation doesn't last as well as Mac Studio Fix Fluid, but it is still great none-the-less.

I think that the lipstick would work 10 times better with a lip liner. However, I only own one and I accidentally left it at uni. BUT, fear not, Santa is bringing me one or two!

Hope you enjoyed reading this and are having a wonderful Christmas time!

RiRi <3 MAC

I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the collection. I have been a big fan of MAC for about over a year now and I have been a fan of Rihanna since about the age of 11! I also am a big fan of the MAC lipstick in shade Ruby Woo.

The moment I found out that Rihanna was releasing her own more deep red version, called RiRi Woo, I just had to get my hands on it!

RiRi wearing RiRi Woo
Unfortunately, I can't find it anywhere. Even on the website, all of the RiRi stock is sold out.

If anyone knows where I can order any of it from pleaseee let me know! I cannot wait to give it all a try!

Thanks for reading!

<3 Bare Minerals <3

Ever since I have started wearing more and more different kinds of makeup it has become a necessity to find the perfect makeup removers, moisturisers etc to combat all the bad stuff that comes along with wearing lots of makeup.

I have here the Bare Minerals Purely Moisturising Moisturiser (for combination skin), BM Eye Makeup Remover, Eye Moisturiser and Facial Cleanser.

I was going to get the Skin Renewing Trio for £22 near Christmas time from Harvery Nic's but then didn't... However, later on in the day I popped into Debenhams and saw the exact same set for half of the price and picked it up without hesitation! I am so happy I got a bargain as, even though I love the trio, I don't the the size of the products compensates for the full price. On the bright side, the eye cream is dreamy! It goes on smoothly and is lasting the longest out of them all. (10/10!!!) Works great for morning AND night! I have only used the facial cleanser once but it smelled absolutely delicious. The texture is creamy and soft on the skin which is lovely to aid in makeup removing after a long day. Again, nothing bad to say about the moisturiser... does exactly what it says on the bottle! As I have already said, these products would be perfect if they were bigger and/or cheaper. I'll have to think about if I am going to re-purchase or carry on in my hunt for the perfect skin renewers!
To the right of the image, you will see the Bare Minerals Eye-makeup remover! This, too, is going down quickly, although it was purchased separately! I don't know if it works well for people that wear mahoosive amounts of eye makeup, but I only apply a touch of pale primer/shadow and mascara and haven't tried it out on anything more.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what did you think of them?

<3 Thanks for reading <3
