HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year, people!

As I am writing this, it is the 1st January 2015. Wow.

I didn't do anything on New Year's Eve, I just stayed in and relaxed with my mum - and also did a touch of revision haha.

I never normally make resolutions but this year I noticed a few things I would definitely like to work on. As I am at university, I wanted to buy a diary so I could organise my life and time better and make sure I get round to doing all of the things I would like to do. I am not going to call these resolutions, because I see resolutions as something that lasts a couple of weeks and then people normally give up, These are the lifestyle changes I WILL make.

Ok, here we go. My 2015 Aims:

  1. Spend Less Time on Social Media/Interent - Now, I have no problem spending time on the internet shopping or blogging or doing something productive. But what is really getting to me is how much time I spend aimlessly scrolling through Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr. They are ok in moderation but I really don't want to be one of those people who is dependent on social media and getting likes and retweets, It really isn't what is important in life. So, I will spend less time killing time on these sites. Obviously, I will still go on them, and yes, on a daily basis, but I won't need to be constantly checking and updating. I don't want to look back and think "wow, I spent so much time on my phone when I could have been doing something interesting, or learning, or blogging"
  2. Blog More - I am so passionate about fashion and beauty and writing a blog is something I have be continuously attempting to do for the past few years. Right now, I feel like I am ready to be a more dedicated blogger and I am going to put a lot more time into blogging - because I do really enjoy it.
  3. Saying YES to more invitations/ events - I feel like I am quite an anti social person and I love being by myself. But then again, whenever I get asked to go somewhere, I try to find a reason not to go or I will dread going the night before. I am not sure why because these things can be as simple as going out shopping with friends or going for a meal. I think I just need to be a little bit more laid-back and take advantage of all opportunities I am offered - big or small.
  4. Exercise and a Balanced Diet - I eat really terribly!!! Chicken Dippers and chips are a regular at dinner times - and it doesn't help that I am a student often cooking for myself. BUT, I will replace chips with mash and replace chicken dippers with some frozen veg. Because, little things like changing your diet can affect your mood. I will also start to run more, Like blogging, running is something that I go in and out of phases doing, I enjoy it but I always put it off, whether for safety reasons or weather reasons. But getting that fresh air and exercise, like eating right, can change your life in such a lovely way.
Anyway, they are my lifestlye changes that I hope to make now we are in 2015.
What are yours?

BEAUTY HAUL

Today, I went shopping around Manchester and picked up a few little bits in Boots. I personally LOVE Boots. Mainly for its great advantage card scheme which gives me offers and free stuff but also because it sells everything beauty related.

Here are a few little things I bought:

Firstly, I picked up a Palmer's product. I have heard such good things about Palmer's and this bottle was on offer for around £2 something. Bargain! Pretty much all the Palmer's products were on offer, too. I decided to try this one out because I have teeny stretch marks on the top of my legs so hopefully this will help!

Next, the Nivea skin care range was on 2 for £4, which I thought was an irresistible offer. I chose an oily skin moisturiser and a tinted moisturiser.

Next, my impulsive till buy! I have wanted to try out Smashbox for AGES! As I was in the till this pack of three miniature primers caught by eye and I just had to buy it. It was £14 which is still a bit pricey but oh well. The miniatures are realllllly mini, so don't get too excited!

Last, but by no means least, the Garnier BB cream for oily skin. I have read reviews on this and wanted a go for myself. The formula is reallllly runny, bit with a touch of concealer and finishing powder, this looks just as good as a full made up face, but without the caked up horrible feeling you get in summer! Perfect!

<3 Soap and (not so much) Glory <3

Now, both of these products look very similar. However, the one to the left is the Soap and Glory Fab Pore Cleanser and to the right is the Bright Here Bright Now Instant Radiance Energy Balm. I've never really delved into the Soap and Glory world before but thought I'd give it ago when I saw these products reduced, just after Christmas, in Boots.

Staring with the Fab Pore Cleanser, I can't say I found it very 'fab' at all. The texture and consistency of this product isn't very good. With most cleansers, I find that once I begin to rub them into my face they seem to work with me and massage quite nicely. BUT this just doesn't cooperate at all. It smells a bit like salad, too... (I hate salad).

Next, the Bright Here Bright Now moisturiser is alright! It definitely moisturises, but almost to the point where it makes my skin a greasy mess! However, one thing I like about this product is it's tint. It had a slight creamy/beige hint to it that helps to even out my skin tone in the morning before I apply a primer. Usually, if I use an oil-free primer, then it's fine. But I rarely like to use oil-free primers because I feel they can be rather drying. Ahh well, better luck next time, Katie.

Do you recommend any Soap and Glory products?
Have you also had bad expereinces with any?
Let me know

Toni&Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray

I only just bought this product but my first thought was how good it smells! I just want to eat it all up... but I don't that would taste nice and it probably isn't advised... Anyway I bought the smaller bottle for £2.17 from Boots to just give it a trial and I love it! I curl my hair quite a bit but sometimes I find it looks a bit too formal and tidy for day-to-day life. This spray gives more texture and roughens up curls to make them more relaxed and give an effortless look! I'll definitely be buying the larger bottle next time!

I loveeee Dry Shampoo!

When I'm in a hurry in the morning and don't have time to wash my hair or just if I feel like my hair needs a break from products I use my trusty dry shampoo!
For me, Batiste's Dry Shampoo is the best one out there! I got mine from Boots at £2.99 each but on a special 3 for 2 offer... BARGAIN! These aren't even the small or medium bottles; these are the largest 200ml bottles! They give so much volume and smell delicious! If you just want to try it out and see if you like it then Body Care do a mini can for just £1!! I would 100% recommend this product, it's a must-have!

L'Oreal Anti-Ageing BB Cream!

BB creams are so popular right now and a few weeks ago I saw this free sample on Facebook so sent away for it. I know I'm young and don't need it... but it was free! Woop!
I got three sachets and to be fair the shade isn't right for my skin as it is too dark (medium). Putting that factor aside I think this cream would be really good for people with aged skin! It's moisturising but not too oily. The coverage is light and not heavy on your face so feels really nice to last you throughout the day without feeling like you're caked in make-up!

This complete product can be found at Boots/ Superdrug etc.
